Where I grew up there is a local country fair with farm livestock, horse and oxen pulls, food and of course rides. Two years prior Dan had asked me out shortly after a nice stroll around the fairgounds. This year was a little different then the others, his parents decided that they would be pulling there draft horses in the ring, therefor Dan ended up helping them hitch the horses. So I ended up walking around the fair with my family and after Dan was finished for the night he joined up with us, enjoying fresh french fries and walking down the midway he decided to buy some tickets to go on a ride... the first one he mentioned was the farris wheel. Now I'm not one for hights so my first reaction was "ohh no..." He smiled at me and said it was either that or the marry-go-round... I quickly said the farris wheel. As we made our way to the top of the farris wheel he asked me if I could see the horse barns, to I turned around to see if I could find them and when I turned back around he had the ring in his hand and told me how much he loved being with me and that the past two years were the best years of his life... He then asked me to marry him. I was shaking and crying so hard that I couldn't answer, He knew that the answer was going to be yes but he asked me what my answer was just to be sure... I finally managed to spit out "YES!" and as we reached the bottom of the farris wheel he shouted out to my family and everyone else watching "SHE SAID YES!!!" The crowd applauded and I heard yells of congratulations. After we got off the ride I couldn't help but to run right to my parents and show them the ring, my dad with a big grin on his face gave Dan a hug and told him he couldn't wait for him to be part of the family! After showing it to my parents we continued to walk around and everyone that passed us asked about the ring and I proudly showed it off... When we made it back to the horse barn I showed his parents and started calling everyone in my phone book, everyone was so happy for us and I was very surprised. I wasn't expecting him to do it at the fair let alone on the farris wheel. Of course I had been wanting it to happen for a while and was beginning to get my hopes up, but surprised me and everything was perfect about that night.
